Responsibilities:
1.Lead the new development process by working closely with the supplier through the tooling debug, engineering pilot sample testing/review, final engineering approvals, release to production, and 1st shipment.
2.Provide recommendations for engineering design and tooling, as well as offering workable solutions for all manufacturing failures.
3.Review product BOM for accuracy as well as manufacturing cost reduction opportunities (via de-specification and/or material substitution).
4.Obtain and file updated 3D/CAD files from supplier at the tool start milestone and again after engineering debug is complete.
5.Evaluate engineering and pre-production samples to confirm that the samples conform to the product specifications, testing requirements, and regulatory standards.
6.Support customer requests from project kick-off to engineering specification. Lead development process from engineering specification through mass production.
7.Monitor ongoing project schedules and update development progress tracking record.
8.Evaluate manufacturing capability of new suppliers and assist in supplier performance reviews.
9.Travel to suppliers as necessary to ensure engineering debug is completely successfully and on schedule. Other occasional travel may be necessary.
Requirements:
- University graduate degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related fields required.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in toys or relevant field
- Experience in project management, problem solving, and design trouble shooting.
- Sound knowledge of plastic molding, metal fabrication, wood fabrication and manufacturing, and/or textile production.
